    I went into this series blind and was pleasantly surprised. Based on the cover alone I expected something futuristic, maybe even apocalyptic. Instead it’s very much based on the US vs Sovient Union space race, set in 1960’s “not Russia”. It has a slice of life feel that touches on some heavy topics and ideas, but never takes them too far. It is a worthwhile read that sets up an interesting alternative-history story that’s out of this world.
