I consider myself something of a connoisseur of stupid cat manga, and this is easily one of the best ones. You’d think there’s only one joke, and while that joke is very important, it gives it enough variety as it goes on that it doesn’t feel stale or like it overstays its welcome.
Additionally, there’s an entire second set of jokes based on the fact that this series knows it’s also making fun of classic Dragon Quest style RPG tropes (like breaking and entering people’s homes for loot), and it can combine them in interesting ways with the cat jokes for some unique takes on how bossy and demanding cats are.
Four volumes seems just the right length for the series to have all the jokes it wants without overstaying its welcome.
